About Prof. Dr. Anisur Rahman

He completes MBBS (DMC), MSc (Canada), FCPS (Surgery), and FRCS (Glasgow, UK). He has almost 30 years of experience. He received a fellowship from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons, FCPS in Surgery in 1990 and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, UK, FRCS in 1995.

Dr. Rahman is renowned in the country for his expertise in managing all types of breast pathology including breast abscess, fibroadenoma, gynecomastia (male breast enlargement), and breast cancer; He has performed thousands of breast surgeries, including breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy) and surgical removal of all of one breast (mastectomy).

He has extensive experience in minimal access surgery (laparoscopic surgery), for which he trained at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, UK, and Gartnevel Hospital, Glasgow, UK.

Prof. Dr. Anisur Rahman has worked as Senior Consultant in the General and Laparoscopic Surgery Department of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka (now this hospital name is Evercare Hospital) for more than 9 years. Prior to this, he was a Professor of Surgery at Bangladesh Medical College (Dhanmondi, Dhaka) and taught surgery there and was a leading surgeon at the hospital for 16 years.
