About Dr Tan Enjiu Pauleon
- Dr Polion Tan specializes in treating both general surgical conditions and colorectal diseases. He is experienced in minimally invasive surgery and endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy), including advanced endoscopic resections such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).
- He has a subspecialty interest in colorectal surgery and has treated many patients with colon, rectal, or anal surgery; Both traditionally open and laparoscopically (via a minimally invasive approach). After training in Japan, Dr. Tan honed the D3 colorectal resection technique that enables more lymph nodes to be retrieved during cancer surgery.
- He is also passionate about colorectal cancer prevention through lifestyle changes, early polyp detection, and removal. He held the position of Clinical Director of the Colorectal Cancer Screening Program at KTPH and is a committee member of the Singapore Cancer Society Colorectal Cancer Awareness Campaign. Dr Tan was head of the surgical division of the Nutrition Working Group at KTPH.
