About Dr Francis Chin Kuok Choon
Dr Francis Chin Kuok Choon Chin is a radiation oncologist with experience in both medical oncology and radiation oncology. He is an ASEAN and Chevening Scholar, has received scholarships from the Singapore and British Governments, and has specifically participated in an EU-sponsored MSc in Radiation Biology. Dr. Chin is the first student from Asia to attend this prestigious radiobiology course sponsored by the European Commission to produce radiation biology and radiation oncology, specialists.
Prior to joining Icon, Dr. Chin worked with the National Cancer Center of Singapore for over 20 years and was a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He was also on the Steering Committee of the Viva-KKH Pediatric Brain and Solid Tumor Program.
Dr. Chin has held several positions across Singapore. He is Deputy Chair of the Institutional Research Board in Oncology/Hematology at SingHealth with a concurrent appointment with the HSA/DSRB IRB. He is also a member of the SingHealth Quality Assurance Committee and oversees clinical risk management across SingHealth’s cluster hospitals. He is a member of the SingHealth NCCS Proton Therapy Implementation Committee and was the principal principal investigator of the National Research Foundation’s 10 million SGD program grant for proton therapy from 2017 to 2022.
